Let's 'tacobout' it - Greg's Perspective

I found Kait’s profile on Hinge and thought “She seems nice.” She had a few semi-flattering pictures (Pictures never show just how beautiful she is), a video of her singing with a child, and a few phrases available to comment on. One phrase, in particular, stood out to me: “I wish life was a musical.” Even though I’m not necessarily the biggest fan of musicals, I do enjoy singing along with my playlists. I don’t remember what I said, but I’m sure it was corny. Regardless, it was enough to get her to agree to go on a date with me. Waiting for her to arrive wasn’t too bad, because it turns out I knew a few people working at the restaurant/bar of Hudson Taco. I spoke to them to kill time. I remember her excuse was a child spitting up in her hair and thinking “Ah, that’s reasonable”… later I came to find out she LIED and she’s always late with no reasonable excuse (eye-roll), but I love her anyway. We made our way to our table, went over the typical meet and greet questions, ordered a few various items on the menu, and things seemed to be going well. I impressed her using my knowledge of the culinary arts by explaining how and why different ingredients, in our order, complement each other. I could tell she was enthralled by her reactions to things I was saying. One of the most memorable moments of our first date is that she was sitting with her back to the windows and that the sun shining through gave her a magical sunlight aura. I remember thinking to myself, “I’m not sure where this will lead, but at least I’m lucky enough to share a meal and spend some time in the company of a beautiful woman.” One year and a few months later, I’m lucky enough to have shared many meals and many moments in the company of a beautiful woman (Kait). This is still just the beginning of our journey and I look forward to experiencing each and every meal/moment to come.
